Auto Transmission Upgrade/Hi Stall Converter

As you increase engine power, demands on the vehicles drive line increase dramatically. Your vehicle transmission must be able to cope with the extra power and torque delivered from your engine upgrade.

KPM can engineer your transmission to cope with whatever the level of demands and applications you want from your vehicle. We remove your transmission and completely dismantle and inspect all internal components.  Our technicians then fully rebuild your transmission with upgraded performance components including Clutches, Shafts and Valve Body Shift Kits. Your transmission is then refitted to your vehicle and all necessary adjustments are performed.  At KPM, we offer various levels of performance builds to cope with full race applications or just reliable street performance.

Diff Ratio Upgrade

Apart from increasing your engine power, changing your diff ratio will improve your 0 to 100 km times more than any other upgrade.

Changing the diff gears is like changing gears on a push bike.  The lower the gear, the easier it is to accelerate from a standing start.  KPM can recommend a gear ratio for your diff that will provide the best performance for your requirements.  KPM can get you down the quarter mile as fast as possible or provide a balanced compromise to put some extra life into your sluggish vehicle set-up.  Whatever the application, a diff ratio upgrade will definitely transform your vehicle to provide a much more responsive and enjoyable drive.

KH41 KPM Air Charge System

Utilising premium materials and filters, these systems offer a premium upgrade from the restrictive factory induction system. Not only are factory systems restrictive but they also don’t cool the inlet air temperature into your motor as efficiently. The benefits of cold air into your motor are simply more power and economy from your vehicle. Increased cold, dense air into your engine produces more efficient power, which results in better economy and performance.

KH42 85 MM MAF Meter Upgrade

KPM recommends this upgrade with every LS Edit Custom Tune. On your VT-VY Commodore, the sensor that reads how much air is entering your engine is called the MAF (Mass Air Flow) Meter. This factory meter is tubular shaped with an 80mm inner diameter. The MAF meter is mounted directly in your intake system and all the air that enters the engine passes through it. KPM’s research has found that upgrading the meter with a later model 85mm VZ Commodore MAF meter, allows greater air to enter the engine, which increases power potential.

This 85 mm MAF Meter comes as a kit and must be retrofitted in conjunction with a computer recalibration (custom LS Edit). The 85 mm MAF Meter Upgrade offers power gains that are 10 kilowatts over the standard meter.

Engine Covers/ Painted to Suit

KPM’s experience has found that removal of the factory "turtle shell" engine cover allows heat to escape from around your engine quicker. This contributes to cooler, more dense intake air which in turn provides better power. These side covers both look great and allow unwanted engine heat to escape easily. KPM is happy to arrange your choice of style and colour.

Ignition Lead Upgrade 10 mm

This Ignition Lead Upgrade kit provides a stronger, more reliable spark due to its Spiral Core Technology and 10mm thick design.

The addition of the 10mm Ignition Lead kit offers a cost-effective minor upgrade to your ignition system by itself. When coupled with performance coils, it is essential that your standard leads be upgraded for premium ignition.

KH44 MSD Ignition Coil Upgrade

Due to many failures from standard coils on the 5.7 engine under performance conditions, KPM recommends the MSD Coil Packs as an essential Major Ignition System Upgrade. These coils will withstand any level of performance from your engine and are guaranteed to provide the strongest spark under extreme conditions. We highly recommend that the ignition leads also be replaced for maximum reliability.
