Alcon Performance Brakes
Alcon is a name synonymous with the manufacture and supply of High Performance brakes and
clutch systems for Motorsport and high performance road vehicles.
Established in 1984 by engineer and sports car racer John Moore, Alcon now employs over 60 staff at its headquarters and manufacturing facility in Tamworth, Staffordshire, UK with subsidiary offices serving key markets in the USA, France and Germany. In addition, it has developed strong representation worldwide with distributors across Europe, Africa, Australasian, Scandinavia, The Far East and USA.
In Australia, PWR Performance Products are the sole import and distribution representatives. In the world of motorsport, Alcon delivers performance, technology, durability and race proven results, which comes from on track R & D programs in racing fields like F1, World Rally, V8 Supercars and Nascar. Alcon supplies brakes and clutch systems to the majority of the World Rally Championship [WRC] teams including Citroën and Subaru. In Formula One, Alcon supplies Toyota with various brake components and is a ‘Technical Partner’ for brakes with Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda. In Australia, HRT, Supercheap Auto Racing Team and Triple Eight Race Engineering all use Alcon brake performance on their V8 Supercars.
In the US, leading IRL contenders Penske Racing, Andretti Green Racing, Target Chip Ganassi Racing and Fernandez Racing are all competing using Alcon brakes. Meanwhile Alcon’s ‘Technical Partnership’ with PPC Racing, NASCAR Nextel Cup challengers has been extended for the 2005 season. Alcon has a strong presence in Japan, particularly in its domestic GT series where TRD, Mugen and Dome all use Alcon products. Motorsport departments within Audi, BMW, Citroën, Ford, Peugeot, Renault and Volkswagen count amongst its many customers.
Motorsport is a rigorous and relentless industry and with such a large involvement in Motorsport, Alcon’s high performance road brakes are based on this motorsport pedigree. As such, an impressive list of high performance and prestige road car manufacturers, including Aston Martin, Bentley, Brabus, Callaway, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Roush Industries and Prodrive also rely on Alcon brakes for special projects and series production.
